For nearly 10 years, TrainerBase has been involved in helping trainers find business. An element of this professional support has been providing advice and guidance to trainers on what it take to be a commercially focused Learning and Development Practitioner that will enable the trainers to be successful. As a result of the 3,000 hours of work by 11 experts in Learning and Development and Business and the publication of the Standard for Learning and Development Practitioners, TrainerBase is now able to offer a unique professional development programme, that when followed will give you the confidence that you know what you need to know and do what you need to do.

The Programme

The TrainerBase Practitioner Development Programme (TBPDP) is firmly routed in the Standard and follows closely the Certified Learning Practitioner accreditation programme. The advantage of this is that as your confidence in your development increases you will be able to go for accreditation if you believe you will gain from the public recognition. The programme is self managed with mentoring support from TrainerBase. The TBPDP operates along the following lines:

• Sign up
• Receive your workbook
• Undertake an initial review of your current competence
• Identify the primary gaps in competence
• Create a plan to improve competence
• Submit your competence improvement plan to TrainerBase
• Start examining current competence in detail to ensure compliance with the Standard
• Start improving your competence in line with your competence improvement plan
• Receive advice and guidance from TrainerBase
• Complete your competence improvement

At anytime after receiving the workbook, a practitioner can opt to sign up for the Certified Learning and Development Practitioner accreditation.

Cost of the programme

In order to keep the costs of the programme to a minimum, this is a self managed programme.
