The TrainerBase Conference

 

We are pleased to confirm the date and location of this years TrainerBase Conference.

 

The location is the Cotswold Conference Centre near Broadway (A44) on Thursday evening of 2nd July and Friday 3rd.

 

This years conference is taking on a new and innovative format and title. We are calling it:

 

The Trainers' Picnic

 

The event will be more informal and subject to weather, much of it held outdoors. Thursday evening will be a barbeque, a learning activity and networking. Friday the 3rd will be a day of business and training activities plus more networking.

 

The Cotswold Conference Centre is supporting this event and we will be able to hold prices at or below last years making this one of the most cost effective events this year. Booking will be via the shop and I will put up the options later this week.

 

We are in negotiations with a potential media partner and as such will get a huge amount of publicity for this event which will attract both purchasers and new members. Spaces are limited to 90 and I strongly recommend that members book as early as possible to avoid disappointment. If the event is fully subscribed we will consider a second event after the summer break.

Would you like to sponsor the event with a stand or perhaps one of the sessions. We will be inviting products and service providers to run workshops if there is a call for their types of activities.

 

This picnic is shaping up to be a very exciting event and definitely one not to be missed.

Opportunities

The first four weeks on 2009 has seen a significant increase in the number of opportunities being posted on to the site. In particular we have seen an increase in opportunities either for work abroad (Middle East) or for work in the UK for foreign clients. Is this evidence that some parts of the world are not being affected by the current economic climate?

When considering applying for an opportunity, members should check the requirements including; Subject, Sector Skills and Level Experience. If you do not match the requirement you should not apply for the opportunity, this practice is becoming very unpopular amongst purchasers and other trainers.

A question for purchasers of training.

What will give you confidence that the freelance trainer you are considering engaging will provide a return on investment or expectation?

 

The TrainerBase Standard

The TrainerBase Standard is the first ‘occupational’ standard specifically developed to measure the full range of competence and behaviours expected of an independent learning and development practitioner. Purchasers have commented “This is long overdue”.
